As part of its Platinum Jubilee Celebrations AIWEFA hosted a Seminar on Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to discuss the issues faced by women with reference to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) of the United Nations within the mandate of the Government of India. In association with the International Women’s Day Celebrations 2004 AIWEFA hosted a Shadow Roundtable Meet to coincide with the 48^thsession of United Nations NGO Committee on the Status of Women (CSW) to focus on a) Creating Awareness towards Gender Equality and b) Women’s Equal Participation in Conflict Prevention. Guest Speakers included Mr. Ajay Paitandy, IAS, Secretary, Social Welfare, Ms. Feroza Mehrotra, IAS, Dy. Regional Director, UNIFEM, and Dr. Jitendra Nagpal, Psychiatrist and Ms. Shovana Nararayan, Danseuse.
