Subsequent to AIWEFA's participation at the fourth world women's conference in 1995 at Beijing, the organisation has had a regular presence at the international fora. In recent years, AIWEFA has participated with programmes at the Commission on Status of Women (CSW), UN headquarters, New York.
A parallel Event was held at CSW60 by Ms. Asha Chandra, President AIWEFA and Ms. Jyotsna Kapur, Executive Member AIWEFA, and it involved the international launch "A world we women want." It showcased best practices from Asia and Africa in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) presented through a panel discussion and a publication on 15 March 2016.
This was followed by dissemination of Indian women's economic empowerment at the Parallel event of CSW 61, held virtually on March 13, 2017. The Event included the launch of a global south website to capture best practices in SDG implementation, a panel discussion and the release of a publication on women’s economic empowerment, moderated by Ms. Rosa Lizarde, Global Director, Feminist Task Force.
In 2019, on 11,13,15 March at CSW 63, AIWEFA President, Ms. Asha Chandra lead the “Khadi Goes Global” initiative supported by KVIC, FDCI and Permanent Mission of India, New York, with a team of four executives comprising Ms. Jyotsna Kapur, Ms. Rita Menon, Ms. Chitra Sarkar, and Mr. Himangshu Rai Vaish, to the UN Headquarters, New York. Three Events were held including a Side Event, Parallel Event, Artisan Fair participation and a khadi fashion show. Designer collections in khadi were brought to the world stage at a gathering of representatives from 193 nations, with panel discussions, fashions shows, exhibitions, spinning wheel installations and films. The objective of the programme was to present the low-cost, zero-carbon khadi spinning and weaving as an employment opportunity which rural women from the global south could follow from the environs of their homes.
In 2021 on 18th March, a virtual event named "A World We Women Want: Gender-Just & Violence Free" under the aegis of CSW65 of United Nations was organised by AIWEFA in partnership with the Permanent Mission of India to the UN.
In 2022 on 21st March a virtual event named "A World We Women and Gils want: Lifestyle for the Environment (LIFE)" a side event CSW66 of United Nations was organised by AIWEFA in partnership with the Permanent Mission of India to the UN.

3. UN's High Level Political Forum (HLPF) 2020 AIWEFA, 2020 (MAY-JULY 2020)
At the UN's High Level Political Forum (HLPF) 2020 AIWEFA, represented by President Asha Chandra, at two virtual events:
1. 'Indigenous women's narratives in times of the COVID-19 pandemic' on 23 May 2020.
2. Side Event: SDGs implementation in the global south: the role of CSOS in accelerating SDGs implementation in the midst of a global crisis: national voices on 15 July 2020.
4. International Khadi cultural promotion CSW63 – 2019 (MARCH 23, 2019)
International Khadi cultural promotion CSW63 was held at the United Nations Headquaters, New York, The CSW63 events in March 2019, included a Side Event in partnership with the Permanent Mission of India and the KVIC sponsored Khadi fabrics were promoted at the Artisan Fair and Parallel Event with support from FDCI

All the three events namely Side Event, Artisan Fair & Parallel Event were very successfully held and received. The compendium “ Empowerment of Rural Women to Achieve the 2030 Agenda for Development” was also released at the international forum alongwith a film specially commissioned from AIWEFA.
5. Khadi Goes Global: A Conclave Celebrating 100 Years of Khadi” – 2019
Khadi Goes Global: “A Conclave Celebrating 100 Years of Khadi” Moving towards Global Sustainable Development Goals for the future of Mankind” was launched on Thursday, 21st Feburary 2019 at Handicraft and Handloom Museum of India, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi-110001.
To honour the spirit of Gandhiji and his long connect with Khadi , two historic organisations, founded under his guidance AIWEFA and FICCI FLO united to celebrate his 150th birthday for transformation of the socio-economic status of rural women.
The day long programme was a collage of events covering all aspects of khadi. It included crafs stalls, folk singers, side events and talks, a film on Khadi made by AIWEFA, a dance performance, fashion shows by reputed fashion designers, bollywood actors, show stoppers and Pearl Academy students.
6. “A World We Women Want” CSW61, at New York: 2017
