Handicrafts
Some of the trainings given are in the field of Appliqué
Work, Diya Painting, Bags, Wall Hanging, Rakhi Making,
Folder Making
Cutting, Tailoring and
Embroidary
Making of varied items like table cloth, mats and
other items of home utility is covered under this
course. These items are further made attractive by
embroidering them and packing them presentably.
AIWEFA and SGH Formation
Community survey and mobilization is done on regular
basis. Extensive mobilization is done to encourage
the residents of the area for SHG formation as well
as Non Formal Education. Importance of education in
family life, working in cottage industry and working
in groups for SHG is stressed upon. Small savings
and banking are encouraged.
Continuous career counseling sessions are held to
enable girls to pursue careers of their interest.
Nutrition Camp
A nutrition camp is organised every month at the centre
in collaboration with Food and Nutrition Department.
Health tips are provided to our beneficiaries. Knowledge
regarding nutrition from the food items like sprouts
or dals and other easily available sources of proteins
and vitamins are discussed and explained to the community
members. Cooking food hygienically is discussed and
its importance highlighted.
Health care
Regular Health checkups are carried on in the Geeta
Colony twice a week. A General Physician is available
at specified times and advice is given regarding their
health and ways of healthy living suggested.
Health Camps are a regular feature. These camps are
held in collaboration with doctors from Government
hospitals. The medicines to be distributed are provided
by the Directorate of Health Services, Delhi.
